This is the group picture I uploaded before but didn't turn out for some reason. As I said before, this is when we went to Jesus's host family's house to learn how to make all natural cough syrup and soap in order to raise funds for the women's commission to pay for their children's surgeries and other needs. From left to right in the back row: Joann, Shola, me, Rebecca, Courtney, Julie, Erik, Liam, Tessa. In the front on the left is Laara, and the others are natives of Guarambare who are either in the commission or are family members of the commission members.

KAREN! LUV the pics. It is so great to read AND see what is going on. You look amazing in the Aug 17th pic. I can totally tell you are having the time of your life! I hope you don't mind that I am bragging for you and telling everyone that I know someone in Paraguay in the Peace Core.
ReplyDeleteAnd side note I ran into Monica from Alaska/Seattle at the Cleveland Clinic a week ago. She is a nurse's assistant and waiting to hear from med school. I recognized her right away and miraculously I remembered her name.
P.S. Purdue rocks so far. Things are going great, making friends (guy friends too!), learning new things. It’s so weird to be a student again though. Amazing where life can take us.

Hey Karen!
ReplyDeleteIt is great to see the pictures! You look great! It looks and sounds like you are becoming very comfortable there. Now as for your bed, that does not look too comfortable but with all the activity you are doing during the day I am sure you sleep pretty sound. Keep up with the posting and with the pictures. Have a great week!
Love, Erin
